Summary
Our Partner is seeking an HVAC Engineer responsible for transforming HVAC and ventilation concepts into practical engineering solutions for industrial and construction projects. This position is responsible for designing HVAC systems, performing technical calculations, and ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical systems from the design development stage through on-site implementation.
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out assigned tasks from the MEP Pre-construction Manager, Design Manager, or Design Director while ensuring completion within the required timeline.
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed HVAC design drawings using Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP in compliance with local regulations and international engineering standards.
- Perform engineering calculations, system analysis, and prepare schematic diagrams while selecting suitable equipment capacities and specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, multidisciplinary engineering teams, external consultants, and clients when required.
- Conduct site visits according to project requirements.
- Perform quality review and verification of drawings and calculations prepared personally or by other team members under the direction of the Manager or Director.
- Ensure all drawings are reviewed and verified before submission to the Manager or Director and checked by the Team Leader (if applicable) prior to external issuance.
- Support the Manager, Director, and Team Leader (if applicable) in preparing design specifications, technical reports, and completing engineering calculations.
- Review contractor and construction management submissions including shop drawings and material proposals.
- Comply with the company’s engineering procedures, technical standards, and professional guidelines.
- Coordinate with contractors and carry out site inspection activities when required.
- Execute assigned responsibilities from the Manager, Director, or Team Leader (if applicable) within the designated timeframe.
- Recommend technical improvements and engineering solutions to enhance design effectiveness.
- Support the MEP pre-construction team in preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimations for equipment and materials based on design documents.
- Prepare technical schedules for equipment and materials and submit them to the Manager, Director, or Team Leader (if applicable) for review and approval.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HVAC Engineering.
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer or eligible to obtain Mechanical Engineering certification.
- Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in a similar engineering role.
- Prior experience in an engineering consultancy environment with a strong focus on design activities.
- Good time management and organizational capabilities with the ability to manage workloads independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong proficiency in MEP design software including Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Access.
- Experience in site inspection or construction supervision for building projects.
- Working knowledge of international building regulations and design standards, including green building standards such as LEED or equivalent systems.
- Intermediate communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams and involvement in construction supervision activities.
