Summary

Our strategic partner is seeking a Technical Lead to work onsite with Japanese customers in Sendai. The role translates business needs into system specifications and guides offshore engineering teams from early solution design through delivery.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with Japanese customers to understand their business needs, current systems, operational challenges, and future expectations.
• Analyze existing systems and clarify requirements with customers during early project consultations.
• Translate customer needs into functional specifications, user stories, or solution proposals for offshore teams.
• Contribute to solution discussions and help align high-level architecture with system design.
• Coordinate communication between Japanese stakeholders and delivery teams in Vietnam and India.
• Lead offshore teams throughout development and delivery.
• Support project planning and coordinate delivery activities.
• Track requirements and help manage changes throughout the project.
• Review deliverables against customer expectations and Japanese quality standards.
• Participate in workshops, system walkthroughs, demonstrations, testing, and customer discussions.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation in Japanese and English.
• Work with technical teams to plan system architecture, development, integration, and implementation.

Job Requirements

• Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Use Japanese at business level or above (JLPT N2 or higher).
• Communicate in English with international and offshore teams.
• Bring at least five years of experience in Business Analysis, System Analysis, Bridge SE, technical leadership, or a customer-facing IT role.
• Understand the software development lifecycle and Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models.
• Have a technical background in system architecture, application development, integration, and software engineering processes.
• Follow technical discussions and coordinate effectively with development teams.
• Demonstrate strong communication, analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Have experience serving Japanese enterprise customers or working onsite on projects in Japan.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing, or another enterprise domain.
• Practical experience with or knowledge of Java, Python, C#, cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, or enterprise application architecture.
• Experience leading offshore development teams.
• Knowledge of AI or Generative AI solutions, or familiarity with modernization projects.
• Experience preparing BRDs, FSDs, workflow diagrams, solution documents, or architecture documentation.
• Familiarity with Japanese project management and quality control practices.
