Pre-sales Manager (Contractors & Developers)

Summary

Our strategic partner is seeking a Pre-sales Manager (Big Contractors & Developers) – Business Solutions (B2B) to identify and influence strategic opportunities from the earliest stages of project development. The role focuses on building strong technical relationships with major contractors, developers, and other project stakeholders, shaping specifications and tender requirements, and supporting the conversion of qualified opportunities into sustainable commercial business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and monitor infrastructure, commercial, and industrial projects from FEED and design stages, maintaining a structured project pipeline for active presales opportunities.
  • Engage major contractors, developers, project owners, and other relevant stakeholders to position suitable technical solutions within project specifications and tender documentation.
  • Build and maintain structured databases covering targeted projects, major contractors, developers, and other strategically relevant project influencers.
  • Develop strong relationships with contractors, developers, owners, consultants, investors, and other project stakeholders through regular engagement plans and technical visits.
  • Organize technical seminars, workshops, product presentations, and participation in relevant industry events to strengthen engagement with priority stakeholder groups.
  • Provide early-stage technical consultation on product applications, mix design, and material specifications, helping project stakeholders evaluate technical and commercial solution advantages.
  • Support technical submissions, pre-qualification documents, and tender materials while maintaining working knowledge of tendering processes and FEED design requirements.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Technical, and Product & Technical Solutions teams to align on project priorities and ensure qualified opportunities are handed over effectively after presales engagement.
  • Track market trends, competitor developments, and upcoming public investment projects to identify future opportunities across infrastructure and building segments.
  • Work with Sales leadership and the Business Solutions function to shape go-to-market strategies for key project segments and provide relevant market intelligence to management.
  • Identify strategic projects before design commencement, influence material specifications early in the project cycle, and recommend focus areas for presales investment based on pipeline trends.
  • Prepare and present regular presales activity reports and project progress updates to management.
  • Maintain current knowledge of cement, concrete, construction chemicals, technical standards, and product specifications relevant to targeted project segments.
  • Perform other relevant responsibilities assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Materials Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bridge & Road Engineering, Port Engineering, or Construction Materials is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience; 10+ years is preferred in construction materials, structural design, supervision consulting, or construction tendering.
  • Relevant industry exposure may include cement, concrete, steel, construction chemicals, industrial coatings, structural design for bridges, ports or airports, supervision consulting, or construction contracting involving tendering and project management.
  • Experience with metro or railway projects is preferred, and experience working on public investment projects is required.
  • Experience managing Grade 1 infrastructure projects such as expressways, international airports, metro systems, or seaports is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of project development and execution processes, tendering procedures, and FEED design.
  • Good knowledge of technical specification development and stakeholder roles within large-scale projects.
  • Solid technical knowledge of cement, concrete, and construction chemical applications.
  • Design certification or supervision certification is an advantage.
  • Fluent Vietnamese and strong spoken English are required; Chinese is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel within Vietnam and occasionally internationally, with the physical capability to visit construction sites as required.
  • Strong planning, organizing, problem-solving, communication, influencing, and presentation skills, with the ability to perform effectively under demanding project conditions.
  • Innovative problem-solving approach, strong market and customer focus, results orientation, and commitment to building long-term customer relationships.
