Head of Finance & Accounting

Job Responsibilities

Our strategic partner is seeking a Head of Finance & Accounting to oversee all Finance & Accounting functions, including financial planning, accounting and compliance, treasury and cash flow management, manufacturing cost control, and internal controls. Reporting directly to the CEO, this CFO-track position plays a key role in ensuring financial transparency, managing financial risks, supporting business growth, and developing future finance leadership capabilities.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): 

  • Develop and manage annual budgets and long-term financial plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts and rolling cash flow projections to support financial visibility and decision-making.
  • Conduct budget variance analysis and provide actionable financial insights to management.
  • Build financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic planning, business expansion, and investment decisions.
  • Maintain and enhance management reporting systems and financial performance dashboards. 

Accounting & Compliance: 

  • Ensure accounting operations and financial reporting comply with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities within established timelines.
  • Manage accounting documentation, reporting processes, and financial record integrity.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax filings and statutory obligations.
  • Coordinate and lead annual external audit activities and audit readiness initiatives. 

Treasury, Cash Flow & Foreign Exchange Management: 

  • Manage daily and weekly cash flow planning and monitoring activities.
  • Maintain effective relationships with banking institutions and financial partners.
  • Oversee domestic and international payment transactions and treasury operations.
  • Develop and implement foreign exchange risk management strategies and related policies.
  • Monitor and optimize working capital performance, including receivables, inventory, and payables. 

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance: 

  • Partner with operational teams to manage product costing and manufacturing cost structures.
  • Perform cost variance analysis and profitability assessments across business activities.
  • Evaluate capital investment projects through financial feasibility and return analyses.
  • Manage inventory valuation processes and inventory performance monitoring. 

Internal Controls & Risk Management: 

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control frameworks and governance practices.
  • Establish approval controls, risk mitigation measures, and fraud prevention mechanisms.
  • Conduct financial risk assessments and support enterprise risk management initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with financial control requirements during customer, regulatory, or third-party audits.
  • Manage insurance-related financial risk programs and control activities. 

Stakeholder Management: 

  • Prepare and present financial reports, performance reviews, and business insights to senior leadership.
  • Maintain professional relationships with auditors, tax authorities, financial institutions, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial, operations, and human resources teams to support business objectives and performance improvement.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting team members.
  • Establish succession planning and talent development initiatives within the finance function.
  • Promote continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development across the team. 

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Having an MBA is considered an advantage.
  • Possession of a recognized Vietnamese Chief Accountant Certificate or an equivalent international accounting qualification.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, CMA, or equivalent are highly preferred. 
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Finance and Accounting functions. Previous Big-4 audit experience (EY, PwC, KPMG, Deloitte), alongside hands-on experience in M&A transactions or IPO readiness is considered an advantage.
  • Strong experience within manufacturing, industrial, FMCG, or export-driven businesses.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior finance leadership position, such as Head of Finance & Accounting, Finance Director, Controller or equivalent. Proven track record of leading and developing teams with five or more direct reports.
  • Experience working in a multinational scale company of 1,000+ FTEs, specifically within a continuous manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Experience supporting international customers and operating in highly regulated environments is an advantage.
  • Fluent Vietnamese and English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and financial management platforms (SAP HANA / Oracle / MS Dynamics ERP advanced, etc.)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and reporting tools.
  • Detail-oriented, strategic thinking and natural curiosity for the business beyond financial numbers.
