Summary
Our strategic partner is seeking a General Accountant to lead general-ledger activities, periodic closing, and financial reporting under Vietnamese Accounting Standards. The role also supports tax compliance, inventory and fixed-asset accounting, audit readiness, internal controls, and continuous improvement of finance processes and systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and prepare financial statements and disclosures in accordance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
- Perform general-ledger accounting, review postings across accounting functions, and reconcile the general ledger with sub-ledgers, receivables, payables, and bank balances.
- Prepare VAT and corporate income tax declarations and finalizations and coordinate supporting documentation for related-party transactions.
- Manage inventory and fixed-asset accounting, including movements, depreciation, and periodic physical-count reconciliation.
- Support independent audits and operate assigned internal-control checkpoints to maintain complete and reliable audit documentation.
- Operate and improve finance processes in SAP FICO, maintain clean master data, and contribute to progressive automation and Power BI-enabled reporting.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or a related discipline; ACCA or CPA studies/qualification are preferred.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a General Accountant role.
- Experience in manufacturing or trading is required; export-manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong capability in general accounting and financial-statement preparation under Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS).
- Working knowledge of VAT, corporate income tax, and related compliance requirements.
- Practical knowledge of cost, inventory, and fixed-asset accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in SAP HANA (FICO), Office 365, and advanced Excel; Power BI and experience with other ERP platforms are preferred.
- Working knowledge of internal controls and audit support.
- A statutory accounting certificate is required; Chief Accountant certification, ACCA, or CPA is preferred.
- Fluent Vietnamese; English sufficient to read accounting standards and work with auditors is preferred.
- Careful, ethical, confidential, and deadline-oriented, with an improvement and automation mindset.
