Sales Director

Our strategic partner is an IT company established by two international technology firms, including a leading technology unicorn. Through its merger with an established technology business, the company brings years of experience in databases and financial technology in Vietnam, with a partner network spanning government institutions and banks.

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Summary

Our strategic partner is seeking a Sales Director to build and execute its business strategy in Vietnam, with a focus on Ho Chi Minh City. The role develops banking partnerships to deliver Fintech and Open Banking solutions to enterprises, expands B2B business, generates revenue through new market opportunities, and leads the sales team.

Job Responsibilities

Business Strategy:

  • Formulate short-, medium-, and long-term business strategies and plans for Vietnam.
  • Recommend revenue, customer, and partner development priorities aligned with the company’s overall strategy.
  • Set business objectives, sales targets, and implementation plans for each phase.
  • Plan market development, customer expansion, and strategic partnership growth.

Customer and Partner Development:

  • Identify, expand, and maintain a network of customers, merchants, and strategic partners for the company’s products and services.
  • Proactively establish and strengthen relationships with banks, financial institutions, Fintech companies, and large enterprises in Vietnam.
  • Use personal and professional banking and financial networks to generate business opportunities.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend solutions suited to the company’s products and services.

Business Execution:

  • Organize and lead sales activities for the company’s technology and payment services.
  • Coordinate with Technical, Operations, Product teams, and the Board of Directors to develop business proposals and deliver projects.
  • Track negotiations and contract implementation to meet business objectives.
  • Manage business opportunities from initial customer engagement through contract signing and ongoing account relationships.

Market Research and Product Development:

  • Research and analyze markets, competitors, and trends in Banking, Payment, and Fintech.
  • Evaluate market demand and recommend new products, services, or business models.
  • Monitor developments in banking, finance, payments, and technology to identify growth opportunities.
  • Recommend ways to improve competitiveness and expand market share.

Negotiation and Contract Management:

  • Lead or support negotiations for major business contracts.
  • Develop commercial proposals, quotations, and partnership offers tailored to each customer.
  • Work with relevant teams to ensure commercial and legal conditions and implementation schedules are met.
  • Maintain customer and partner relationships after contract signing.

Team Management and Development:

  • Build, organize, and develop the sales team in Vietnam.
  • Assign work, coach, train, and evaluate employee performance.
  • Establish a proactive, professional, and results-oriented working culture.
  • Implement processes for managing customers, business opportunities, and sales reporting.

Reporting and Coordination with the Board of Directors:

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business reports.
  • Report on markets, customers, partners, revenue, and prospective business opportunities.
  • Propose solutions to issues arising during business operations.
  • Work with the Board of Directors to develop and adjust the company’s business strategy.

Job Requirements

Experience and Expertise:

  • Minimum of 8–10 years in Sales/Business Development, including at least 5 years in senior management roles such as Sales Director, Head of Sales, Business Director, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Banking, financial institutions, Fintech, Payment Gateway, Open Banking, Banking Solution, Core Banking, or technology companies providing financial, payment, or data solutions is preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing short- and long-term business strategies.
  • Experience developing B2B customers, strategic partnerships, and high-value contracts.
  • Experience managing, developing, and leading sales teams.

Professional Network:

  • Strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and large enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Ability to engage and build relationships with managers and senior leaders at banks and financial institutions.
  • Ability to expand partner networks and generate new business opportunities.

Business Capabilities:

  • Sound understanding of Vietnam’s banking, finance, payment, and Fintech markets.
  • Ability to analyze markets, competitors, and industry trends.
  • Strategic thinking with strong planning and execution capabilities.
  • Good negotiation, presentation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive approach, strong accountability, and commitment to long-term business development.

Languages and Working Tools:

  • Good English communication for work, including reading documents and liaising with partners.
  • Basic to good Korean communication; the ability to work directly with Korean management or partners is preferred, and good Korean proficiency is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to use tools for customer management, reporting, and related work management.
