Senior General Accountant

Summary

Our strategic partner is seeking a Senior General Accountant to manage core accounting activities while supporting financial planning, treasury, working capital, pricing, and business analysis. The role works across commercial and operational functions to maintain accurate reporting, healthy cash flow, regulatory compliance, and sustainable profitability.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities under Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and General Ledger transactions, and maintain complete accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Prepare monthly management and financial reports and ensure month-end and year-end closing activities are accurate and completed on schedule.
• Monitor daily bank balances, prepare weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasts, track working-capital needs, and coordinate supplier payments and customer collection plans with Sales.
• Manage liquidity requirements and banking relationships covering loans, foreign exchange, trade finance, and credit facilities, while supporting foreign-currency planning and exchange-rate risk mitigation when needed.
• Calculate pricing for domestic and export markets, analyze gross margins by customer and product, review cost assumptions including freight, duties, FX impact, warehousing and rebates, and support quotations, tenders, and post-implementation profitability reviews.
• Develop financial models for management decisions and analyze gross profit, Cash Conversion Cycle, Working Capital, Inventory, DSO, DPO, and DIO to identify financial risks and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, CIT, PIT, WHT, and Vietnamese accounting regulations, coordinate with external auditors, and maintain effective internal controls.
• Provide finance partnering to Sales, Purchasing, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Logistics, banks, external auditors, tax authorities, and overseas suppliers to support business decisions.
• Strengthen finance processes through internal-control improvements, ERP implementation, financial dashboards, management reporting, and automation using Power BI, Excel, AI, or ERP systems, while recommending scalable process enhancements.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA, CA, or ACCA certification is preferred.
• 7-10 years of accounting experience; experience in trading, import-export, or FMCG environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of working-capital management with practical experience in treasury, banking relationships, product pricing, and commercial finance.
• Advanced Excel capability and experience with ERP platforms such as MISA, FAST, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or equivalent systems.
• Technical capability in treasury management, cash-flow forecasting, pricing models, cost analysis, financial modelling, management reporting, working-capital management, foreign-exchange exposure, and finance business partnering.
• Commercial mindset with strong analytical thinking, high integrity, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional influencing skills, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
