Maintenance Supervisor

Summary

Our strategic partner is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead mechanical and electrical maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for equipment reliability, preventive and breakdown maintenance, team leadership, maintenance performance, spare-parts control, and continuous improvement to minimize downtime and support stable production.

Job Responsibilities

Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Management:

• Develop and implement scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans for all machinery and production lines.
• Ensure Preventive Maintenance activities are completed on schedule and meet required quality standards.
• Track and improve MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and equipment downtime indicators.
• Maintain maintenance records accurately in ERP/SAP or CMMS.
• Recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability and extend asset service life.

Breakdown Response & Root Cause Analysis:

• Participate directly in resolving major mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
• Lead the maintenance team during emergency equipment incidents.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, and FMEA to eliminate recurring failures.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers when complex technical issues require external support.

Maintenance Team Management:

• Assign work, supervise execution, and evaluate technician performance.
• Train, coach, and develop the mechanical and electrical maintenance team.
• Build a multi-skilled maintenance team across both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Recommend recruitment, recognition, and succession-development actions for the maintenance team.

Electrical & Mechanical Systems Management:

Electrical

• Manage industrial electrical systems, switchboards, variable-frequency drives, motors, servo systems, and PLC/HMI.
• Supervise industrial power and control systems.
• Monitor power quality and recommend energy-saving solutions.
• Coordinate troubleshooting for PLC, SCADA, and automation-related issues.

Mechanical

• Manage mechanical transmission systems including gearboxes, conveyors, shafts, bearings, belts, and chains.
• Diagnose, analyze, and resolve mechanical problems affecting production equipment.
• Implement Predictive Maintenance activities for mechanical equipment.

Spare Parts & Maintenance Cost Management:

• Manage spare-parts inventory and availability.
• Recommend purchases of spare parts, maintenance materials, and maintenance services.
• Control maintenance expenditure within approved budgets.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels for critical spare parts and materials.

Continuous Improvement & System Development:

• Participate in projects involving equipment improvement, machinery upgrades, and automation.
• Implement TPM, Autonomous Maintenance, and Lean Maintenance practices.
• Apply Predictive Maintenance tools, including: Vibration Analysis, Thermal Imagin, Motor Current Signature Analysis
• Propose Kaizen initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure full compliance with mechanical and electrical safety requirements.
• Implement and supervise Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
• Control Hot Work, Confined Space, and other high-risk maintenance activities.
• Stop equipment proactively when an unsafe condition is identified.
• Maintain maintenance activities with zero work-related accidents.

Job Requirements

• College or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
• Five to ten years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing, including at least one to two years leading a maintenance team.
• Strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems, including PLC/HMI, SCADA, variable-frequency drives, servo systems, motors, instrumentation and sensors, and mechanical power-transmission systems.
• Experience managing Preventive Maintenance and Breakdown Maintenance, with strong troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis capability.
• Experience with extruders, continuous-production lines, plastics, polymers, packaging, or related industrial manufacturing is preferred.
• Hands-on leadership style with strong people management, problem solving, planning, decision making, coaching, and continuous-improvement capability.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP/ERP; AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor is an advantage.
• Ability to read technical documentation in English; English communication with overseas suppliers or technical specialists is an advantage.
