Summary
Our strategic partner is seeking a Country HR Manager to drive the overall people agenda in Vietnam, strengthening organizational capability and aligning HR initiatives with business priorities. The position encompasses workforce planning, recruitment, talent development, employee relations, performance and rewards, HR operations, organizational effectiveness, and labor compliance across local operations.
Job Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Business Partnership
- Develop and execute the country HR strategy in alignment with regional and global business objectives.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the General Manager, plant leaders, and country leadership team on people, organizational, and workforce matters.
- Translate business priorities into actionable HR initiatives that drive business growth, operational productivity, organizational effectiveness, and workforce engagement.
- Lead, coach, and develop HR team, establishing clear roles, priorities, performance expectations, and development plans.
- Foster collaboration across HR functions and ensure consistent HR practices and a professional, service-oriented, business-focused HR culture across all sites.
Workforce & Organization Planning
- Lead workforce planning, headcount budgeting, labor cost forecasting, and workforce analytics to support business requirements.
- Review organizational structures and drive workforce optimization, organizational transformation, and change initiatives.
- Identify critical roles and establish succession strategies and talent pipelines.
Talent Acquisition & Development
- Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding for managerial, professional, technical, and operational positions.
- Partner with hiring managers to define workforce needs and develop effective sourcing strategies for critical and hard-to-fill positions.
- Lead talent reviews, succession planning, career development, and leadership development initiatives, including coaching, mentoring, and high-potential development.
Performance Management
- Lead the annual performance management cycle and coach managers on goal setting, KPIs, performance standards, and development plans.
- Ensure fair and consistent performance assessments and support managers in addressing performance gaps.
- Link performance outcomes with development, recognition, succession, and compensation decisions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs, including salary planning, merit increases, promotions, incentives, benefits, and recognition programs.
- Conduct market benchmarking to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
- Monitor and manage labor costs in line with business requirements and approved budgets.
Employee Relations, Engagement & Compliance
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaged workplace and advise managers on employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievances, and performance-related issues.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives and manage complex employee relations matters, investigations, and relationships with employee representatives or relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, company policies, employment practices, data privacy, and internal audit requirements.
HR Operations & Process Excellence
- Oversee HR operations, including payroll coordination, time and attendance, employee records, work permits, HR systems, benefits administration, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate HR data, effective controls, and consistent HR processes across all sites.
- Drive HR process improvement, standardization, digitalization, and automation, providing workforce analytics and management dashboards to support decision-making.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Law, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in an HR leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience managing HR functions across multiple business units, functions, or locations, preferably in a multinational manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Vietnamese labor law, employee relations, HR operations, total rewards, and labor cost management.
- Strategic and business-oriented mindset, with the ability to align people strategies with organizational priorities.
- Strong leadership, people management, coaching, and talent development capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, communication, and presentation skills, with experience working with regional/global stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, sound judgment, data analysis, and change management capabilities.
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese, both written and spoken.
- High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
