Head of Sales

Summary

Our partner is seeking an accomplished and results-driven Head of Sales with proven experience in the flexible packaging industry to lead and accelerate business growth. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this strategic leadership role will be responsible for managing a sales team of 15 members, driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and developing long-term customer partnerships across both domestic and international markets.

The successful candidate will possess a strong track record in sales leadership, business development, global key account management, and commercial strategy execution. As a key member of the leadership team, this individual will work closely with regional leadership team and cross-functional local team, including Technical, Operations, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance, to achieve business growth objectives. 

Job Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Business Growth:

  • Develop and execute short-term and long-term sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, volume, and market share targets aligned with the company’s business objectives.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team of 10–15 members to consistently deliver outstanding business results.
  • Drive new business development initiatives and expand new clients in domestic and international markets.
  • Manage strategic global, regional, and local key accounts to ensure sustainable growth, customer retention, and long-term partnerships.
  • Establish sales targets, KPIs and enhance sales team performance to drive accountability and execution excellence across the sales team.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts through cross-selling, upselling, and value-added solutions.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, contract discussions, and pricing strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Market Development & Commercial Strategy:

  • Conduct market analysis to identify industry trends, customer needs, competitive activities, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor strategies, pricing trends, and market developments to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, brand owners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Organize and represent the company at trade exhibitions, industry conferences, customer meetings, and international business events to strengthen brand presence and generate new business opportunities.

Sales Planning & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, budgets, pipeline reports, and business performance analyses for senior management.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure customer requirements, product specifications, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Align commercial objectives with operational capabilities to enhance customer satisfaction and overall business performance.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives and contribute to the company’s long-term growth strategy.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Provide strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring to foster a high-performance sales culture.
  • Develop succession plans and individual development programs to strengthen team capability and support career growth.
  • Monitor team performance and implement improvement initiatives where necessary.
  • Promote employee engagement, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Lead by example in demonstrating the company’s values, professionalism, and customer-centric mindset.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the flexible packaging industry is required; exposure to the FMCG industry is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive commercial experience, including at least 5 years in a senior sales leadership role (Senior Manager, Sales Director, Commercial Director, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated success in leading sales teams, driving revenue growth, developing new business, and managing strategic accounts.
  • Strong experience in export sales, international business development, and customer relationship management.
  • Excellent commercial acumen with strong analytical, negotiation, and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Strong leadership, people management, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proven track record of improving customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English and Vietnamese, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Results-driven and proactive personality, with a strong growth mindset and the ability to drive business performance and achieve ambitious objectives.
