Purchasing Engineer MRO

Our strategic partner is a leading multinational company specializing in manufacturing electronics and connectors used in data transmission systems. Currently, our strategic partner is expanding its business operations in Vietnam and is seeking to fill key positions.

Location: Long An, Vietnam

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage sourcing and procurement of MRO items: tooling, cutting tools, machine spare parts, jigs/fixtures, lubricants, safety equipment, calibration services, etc.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to define technical specifications and requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with local and international suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier database and develop alternative suppliers to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure timely delivery of MRO items to avoid production downtime.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Monitor supplier performance (quality, lead time, service level).
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.
  • Support audits and provide data for Capex/MRO expenditure reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in MRO procurement or technical purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of production equipment and maintenance requirements (CNC machines, stamping presses, molding machines, machining centers, etc.).
  • Strong technical knowledge to evaluate suppliers’ proposals.
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills in English & Chinese (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems.
