Key Account Manager (Japanese Speaking)

Summary

Our partner is seeking an accomplished Key Account Manager with a proven track record in new business development within the flexible packaging industry. This role is responsible for developing new business, managing key accounts, achieving revenue targets, and building long-term customer relationships, with a strong focus on Japanese clients in both local and export markets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development and manage assigned key accounts to achieve sales, revenue, and volume targets aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, with a strong focus on Japanese clients in both domestic and international markets.
  • Manage and grow export key accounts within assigned regions, serving as the primary point of contact from inquiry to order fulfillment.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and promote upselling of new solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with local and international customers, converters, and brand owners.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and quotations tailored to customer requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to ensure profitability and compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure effective handling of customer complaints, quality issues, and post-sales service.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
  • Track competitor activities and market trends in key export markets.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts and provide regular performance reports and business updates to management.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (R&D, Production, Supply Chain) to meet customer specifications and delivery timelines.
  • Represent the company at trade exhibitions, international events, and customer meetings to generate new leads and strengthen brand presence.
  • Support participation in international exhibitions and commercial activities as required.

Job Requirements 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in new business development and key account management, with at least 3 years in flexible packaging (blown film, laminates, or related products).
  • Proven experience in managing and developing Japanese clients.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Japanese (spoken and written).
  • Strong business development mindset with the ability to manage complex customer relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving business priorities.
