Indirect Sourcing Manager

Our strategic partner is a popular brand in the food and beverage manufacturing industry. The company has achieved significant success and has recently invested in production line technology and infrastructure. Due to continued growth and overall expansion, there are some strategic recruitment needs for the following positions to upgrade the organization and enhance people capability.

Location: Binh Duong, Vietnam

Job Responsibilities

Develop the annual sourcing plan for indirect categories, including MRO, services, and ad-hoc/seasonal procurement. Identify strategic sourcing opportunities based on market dynamics, contract expirations, and sourcing cycle timing, ensuring alignment with company business priorities:

  • Lead the collection and analysis of market intelligence, including comprehensive supplier base information and capabilities, utilizing sources such as industry reports, expert interviews, and internal knowledge.
  • Establish, communicate, and implement clear category standards to optimize procurement processes and support strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Continuously evaluate supply strategies in response to changing market conditions and provide expert input into sourcing activities to ensure full compliance with corporate policies, SOPs, and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Support sourcing projects within assigned categories by providing expert guidance, methodologies, and best practices to ensure the successful development and implementation of category standards.
  • Drive the development of robust sourcing strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders, and continuously monitor and adjust the plan to meet evolving business needs.
  • Ensure all sourcing strategies and their execution are fully compliant with the company’s Procurement Policy, operational guidelines, and all legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Oversee the development of RFx (RFI/RFP/RFQ) documentation and robust evaluation criteria aimed at optimizing costs and enhancing overall value.
  • Supervise the execution of sourcing initiatives, providing guidance to the team to ensure maximum strategic effectiveness and successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to meticulously track and document savings from all sourcing initiatives; monitor the progress of the sourcing plan through rigorous reviews to ensure cost and value targets are met.

Assess and secure the required supplier capacity to meet business demands; align stakeholders and ensure adequate resources (processes, personnel, budget) are in place for successful plan implementation:

  • Develop, communicate, and enforce clear supplier standards to maintain high levels of quality and performance consistency across the supply base.
  • Actively monitor market developments and benchmark supplier performance to identify emerging trends and improve the company’s competitive positioning.
  • Assume full accountability for the supplier master data lifecycle, including creation, validation, and continuous updates, to maintain an accurate and reliable supplier database.

Proactively build and nurture strategic partnerships that contribute to the company’s sustainable growth and enhance its corporate reputation:

  • Align key supplier relationships with the company’s strategic interests to collaboratively identify and pursue untapped business opportunities.
  • Representing the company at industry seminars, events, and discussions to promote mutual brand value and contribute to the development of the broader industry.
  • Developing bilateral cooperation programs that contribute to the strategic development goals of both the company and its partners.
  • Foster business development and innovation by jointly identifying and implementing opportunities with partners that create long-term, mutual value.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related field is required.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), Power BI, and the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
  • Excellent command of English (written and verbal). Proficiency in an additional language is an advantage.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar strategic sourcing or procurement management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a sizable purchasing or sourcing team.
  • Analytical skills with a proven ability to think strategically and develop effective category plans.
  • Significant skills in project management, communication, negotiation, and people leadership.
  • In-depth technical understanding of indirect spend categories, their cost drivers, and deep knowledge of relevant supplier industries.
  • Proven ability to work and collaborate effectively across different business units and functions.
