Summary
Our Partner seeks an accomplished Finance Controller with experience in the flexible packaging industry. This position is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring accurate reporting, effective budgeting and strategic financial planning. The job holder will act as a key advisor to management, providing financial insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making and drive business success.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to the parent company.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial results for the company as a whole.
- Develop and maintain robust financial reporting systems that provide reliable data for informed decision-making.
- Lead the annual budget planning process, collaborating with stakeholders to develop realistic and achievable financial targets.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement, including revenue enhancement, cost reduction initiatives, expense control and capital efficiency improvements.
- Analyze performance against budget and strategic goals, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Evaluate the company’s short-term and long-term strategic plans, identifying and assessing viable growth opportunities.
- Formulate and recommend business development opportunities aligned with global strategies.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision-making.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional development and high performance.
- Recruit, train and develop finance staff capable of meeting the current and future needs of the business.
- Implement effective performance management practices to ensure individual and team success.
- Administer the capital investment budget, tracking expenditures and ensuring alignment with approved projects.
- Evaluate and prioritize capital investment requests to meet short-term and long-term business strategies.
- Provide advice on taxation matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Oversee tax compliance reporting and payments.
- Ensure adequate protection of company assets through appropriate insurance coverage.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing effective risk management strategies.
- Manage financial resources to meet operational obligations and support strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Group Treasury guidelines and reporting requirements.
- Optimize cash flow management and working capital.
- Oversee the efficient execution of transactional processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and related reporting functions.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive financial policies and procedures that provide a framework for consistent and reliable financial reporting.
- Ensure that financial policies are reviewed and updated regularly to reflect best practices and regulatory changes.
- Obtain approval from General Director for all new or revised financial policies before implementation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- MBA degree is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably within the flexible packaging sector, is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Proven ability to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent English communication skills (both spoken and written).
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
