Chief Accountant (CPA Background)

Our strategic partner is a technology platform operating in the passenger transportation service sector, providing online booking solutions and facilitating connections between customers and service operators. The company is expanding its operations in Vietnam and is seeking to strengthen service quality and customer experience through key hires.

  • Job Type: Contract (6-12 months)

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure accurate preparation and maintenance of accounting records in compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS).
  • Manage relationships with banking institutions, ensuring compliance procedures, foreign capital transactions, and administrative requirements are executed accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory declarations and reconciliation of VAT and withholding tax balances with tax returns and accounting records.
  • Oversee all Foreign Contractor Tax (FCT) matters, ensuring valid registration status and accurate, timely monthly tax filings in accordance with Vietnamese regulations.
  • Control the end-to-end process related to output VAT, ensuring issued invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant with local tax reporting requirements.
  • Conduct reconciliations across payment platforms, partner settlements, vendor transactions, and ERP systems.
  • Provide support throughout internal and external audit processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business leaders to identify opportunities for growth while maintaining effective cost management.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the Vietnam office and relevant internal stakeholders located overseas.

Job Requirements 

  • Possess a valid Chief Accountant certification and/or Certified Public Accountant qualification in Vietnam.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in senior accounting positions, preferably holding a Chief Accountant role within a foreign-invested company operating in Vietnam.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), value-added tax regulations, foreign contractor tax, and other statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience managing financial audits, tax declarations, and regulatory reporting in Vietnam.
  • Professional English communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively coordinate with international stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel with strong analytical capability and high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate high levels of integrity, ethical standards, and accountability in financial management and compliance responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to link financial results to operational activities and propose improvements.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments, handle ambiguity, and deliver practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Basic knowledge of software and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work on-site in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi and travel when required by business needs.
