Channel Development Manager (Trade Marketing)

Job Responsibilities 

  • Take ownership of trade promotion programs within the GT channel, including preparing proposals, coordinating with Trade Administration for official announcements, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory and internal promotion guidelines related to GTN and gifting activities on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate closely with the GT team to allocate sales volume effectively across regions and stores in alignment with forecast plans.
  • Monitor and track all promotional activities, working cross-functionally with Trade Administration, Finance, Purchasing, Logistics, and Sales to propose initiatives that optimize budget utilization and drive sales performance.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure sufficient stock availability to meet sales targets.
  • Manage channel-specific promotions by developing tailored programs, including proposing suitable gift items and coordinating with the Purchasing team to deliver gifts or vouchers to the GT team.
  • Implement in-store merchandising initiatives to enhance visibility of key SKUs, ensuring impactful messaging and visual execution.
  • Work with external agencies to oversee and track activities such as sampling and activation, and follow up on post-activity results and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with agencies to develop designs for POSM, visibility materials, and promotional gifts.
  • Execute assigned marketing projects and ensure proper task delegation when required.
  • Develop and propose a clear in-store success vision for each category within the channel, support execution, and continuously evaluate effectiveness.
  • Provide recommendations for promotional guidelines based on shopper insights and current market understanding.
  • Ensure all promotional investments are properly reviewed and evaluated for effectiveness.
  • Propose actionable in-store solutions grounded in a strong understanding of shopper behavior within priority customers.
  • Identify key priority customers across Sales, Category, and Market, and collaborate with the Sales team to develop tailored category channel plans aligned with overall market strategy.
  • Work with customer teams to define and implement appropriate channel and key customer execution plans, including sales and budget targets (GTN/A&P), and support development of commercial propositions at the channel level.
  • Contribute inputs to the IBP process by identifying key opportunities and proposing action plans for priority channels.
  • Continuously gather, update, and communicate insights on market trends, competitive activities, and channel developments, assessing their impact and opportunities for brands and categories.
  • Provide input into strategies and plans that drive channel growth based on consumer, shopper, and customer needs.
  • Ensure full compliance with all company policies and principles.

Job Requirements 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial roles, with prior exposure to Trade Marketing, Sales, or Marketing functions.
  • Proven track record of success in customer-facing positions.
  • Strong understanding of customer behavior and the sales process.
  • Good knowledge of key business functions.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Capability to perform under high pressure and make critical decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinking capability.
  • Good planning, organizing, and coordination skills.
  • Willingness and ability to learn continuously.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Nielsen, KWP, and MWB.
  • Good command of English.
