Senior Human Resources Manager

About the Role

The Senior HR Manager will lead and develop the Human Resources strategy and operations across the factory Vietnam’s large-scale apparel manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR leadership within the apparel industry, deep knowledge of Vietnamese labor law, and proven experience managing HR functions for large workforces, including driving organizational restructuring initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives and operational needs.
  • Act as a strategic partner to factory and company leadership to support growth, operational excellence, and organizational development.

HR Operations Management

  • Lead and oversee the entire HR function, including Recruitment, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, CSR, Training & Development, and Performance Management.
  • Drive talent acquisition and mass recruitment efforts, especially for sewing workers and sample sewing workers.
  • Monitor and improve the internal training school to develop non-skilled workers into skilled workers to meet production needs.
  • Conduct salary surveys and benchmarking with the labor market, particularly focusing on garment companies in the Binh Duong area.
  • Ensure proper expat services, including work permits, visas, taxes, and other benefits.
  • Develop a talent pool for key positions (e.g., managerial, head of department, technical leaders) ensuring readiness of high-caliber candidates.
  • Develop the technical competency of the HR team and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Design and implement performance management systems that drive productivity, align individual and team goals with business objectives, and promote a high-performance culture.
  • Manage organizational restructuring and change management initiatives.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Promote positive worker-management relationships through proactive employee relations practices, including workplace dialogues.
  • Monitor and address workers’ grievances to mitigate risks of strikes or labor disputes.
  • Initiate improvements to enhance employee retention and reduce turnover rates, particularly for sewing workers during their probation period.
  • Proactively manage employee relations and drive initiatives to enhance engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with Vietnamese labor law and relevant international labor standards.
  • Provide guidance on legal matters, disciplinary actions, and dispute resolution.

Training & Development

  • Implement training and development programs to strengthen the capability of production leaders, technical leaders, and quality leaders.

CSR & Sustainability

  • Oversee the implementation of corporate social responsibility programs, ensuring ethical labor practices and compliance with buyer/brand standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of progressive HR management experience, with significant experience in apparel or garment manufacturing.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale HR operations (preferably with 3,000+ employees).
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational restructuring and change initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Vietnam labor law, labor relations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Vietnamese.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in performance management practices that enhance organizational development and productivity.
